Art in Búzios

Búzios has several galleries with local artists and foreign artists. The foreign are in larger number, because they love the city's environment, and end up moving in. At Rua das Pedras, there is a small gallery called Galeria das Artes (Arts Gallery), which unites several artists and permanent displays. Oil paintings, bronze sculptures and several types of art can be appreciated and bought.

The fishermen at Armação Beach (picture) and the statue of Brigitte Bardot, at the Bardot Beachfront: bronze sculptures by artist Christina Motta, which seem to have their own life, and can be appreciated at several places in town.

The artist makes from rugs, papier machet, banners inspired on ecology and oil paintings. But the highlights are really to the objects sculpted in papier machet.

Christina Motta
The artist's bronze sculptures, such as the fishermen, at Armação Beach, or the statue of Brigitte Bardot, at Bardot Beachfront, can be appreciated from several spots in town.

Celina Lisboa
After having worked so many years with ceramics and sculpture, Celina goes back to painting, now doing more contemporary work.

Vilmar Madruga
The love for arts comes from the family: the mother, a TV dressmaker, brought home the pleasure of colors. Madruga started painting even before knowing his first letters. Today he has work displayed in several places in the world. The artist's gallery is open from 5 pm to 12 pm.

Marcelo Moraes and the Espaço DeMoraes (DeMoraes Space)
Works with plastic arts since 1990. At the Espaço DeMoraes he teaches his art to beginners who want to work under the artist's orientation.
