Day Off: powered water sports in Búzios
Day Off started its' activities over a decade ago. In the beginning, people would come from far away to ride the jet skis, which now is prohibited by the local laws, except for Canto and Rasa beaches.
Wakeboarding and Lessons
Cláudio Huguet does stunts on his wakeboard.
A tourist is pulled during a mono ski class.

In the classes, the beginner learns basic wakeboarding: starting off, crossing the wave, first jumps, wake to wake, which is when you jump from one wave to the other, a stunt that should be preferably heelside.
Cláudio recommends that the wakeboard classes be in the morning "when the water is calmer and there is less wind. Until around 10:30, in general, the water is surely good", says Cláudio. Individual or group classes can be scheduled during weekdays.

Besides the wakeboard pulls, Day Off also does mono and double ski classes and pulls, being ideal for beginners, because this is considered the easiest of the water sports.
Banana Boat Rides
Ferradura Beach is considered the pioneer in Banana Skiing in Búzios (the English Jonathan, in the 80's, already would Banana Ski in front of Dinos Bar). On Day Off's Banana Boat, groups of 10 people can ride (minimum of 4 people for the boat to go out).
Children older than 2 and one half years, if accompanied by their parents, can go on light rides. Another new activity for the kids is the big floating trampoline (aqua jump), which is a huge success. It can also be used to train some wakeboard stunts.
Boat Rides
Day Off also offers boat rides for up to 5 people (preferably the Ferradurinha, Geribá, Tucuns course) and boat rides for fishing by Gravatas, Ancora and Ilhote islands, but only "if the ocean is calm and from 7:30 am to 8:30 am with a maximum of 3 people", explains Cláudio.
